Never Again

Day 91/366: Red Velvet Cake

After our group's video shoot for our History class project, my friend Yanna and I went to Holly's to edit our music video. I've been meaning to try Holly's Red Velvet Cake for  a long time, so I thought, "This is it!" I haven't heard any feedbacks from anyone who have already tried it, so I just took the risk and sad to say, it just tasted like an ordinary chiffon cake. Not red velvety at all. It made me crave for the real red velvet taste.

Water Drops

Day 90/366: Water Drops

I've been hating the bipolar weather. It makes me feel sick.

Day 88/366: Happy birthday, Tita Malu!

Spotted: Tita Malu after blowing her birthday candle. Cheers to more good years to come!

Popsicle Doll

Day 87/366: Popsicle Doll

For our last session in our Personal Effectiveness class, we were asked to make our own doll showing how we would look like 5 to 10 years from now. Judging from what I did, I'll probably look 9gag-ish  with the blonde hair a few years from now. Haha! On a serious note though, there were very limited materials and that's the best thing that I could do out of a plain head with a popsicle stick, stick on eyes and mouth, and rolls of yarn. It doesn't look that bad (Well, at least for me).

Savoring Every Piece

Day 86/366: Mini Red Velvet Cupcakes

Enzo and I strolled around Eastwood yesterday. Stalls were put up inside the mall for the Weekend Gourmet Market, and upon seeing different pastries, I scouted for red velvet cupcakes. After some time, I found these heavenly mini cupcakes made by Cukay's. A friend of mine referred the shop to me before and she wasn't wrong at all when she told me that Cukay's red velvet cupcakes are to die for! Enzo bought a pack of 12 mini cupcakes for me and I've been trying to savor every piece since yesterday. They are so hard to resist, I tell you.

Little Bundle of Joy

Day 85/366: Little Karina
Next to food, babies are my favorite subjects when it comes to photography. Meet baby Karina, Enzo's adorable niece. I could take pictures of her the whole day!

Tears of Joy

Day 84/366: Genuine Tears
Meet the my golden aunt, Tita Helen. They say that when tears start to stream down your face over something good, you must be sincerely overwhelmed with happiness. And I do think that with the surprise that was prepared for her, she was indeed overwhelmed.

Landscape

Day 83/366: Buildings

I'm not really good when it comes to landscape photography since I'm used to food photography which basically requires a small working distance. Putting a vast subject into a small frame seems like a whole different game for me and I guess that's something that I need to practice on once in a while.

Exactly thirty-one days from now, I'll be turning twenty-two.

Saved by Cheese

Day 81/366: Formaggi Pizza

Wednesday night dinner with Enzo at Pasto. My heart got broken when the waiter told us that they don't serve Zuppa di Gamberi anymore. Good thing, our pizza's loaded with four different cheese delights - feta, ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan. Saved by cheese! Happy tummies once again!

Tale as Old as Time

Day 80/366: Rose

This rose pretty much reminds me of Beauty and the Beast - my all-time favorite Disney movie.
"Tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the Beast."

Órale

Day 78/366: Fully-loaded Nachos

As soon as I got back in Manila from Batangas, I went straight to Makati and then to Fort to meet up with Enzo's relatives. Enzo needed to withdraw money and while we were looking for an ATM machine, we ended up eating in Órale located at the Fort Strip area. It's just a small place, but cozy enough to make you feel relaxed while eating.

Look Who's Boss

Day 77/366: The Pig

Home sweet home after two weeks of not being able to go home in Batangas. I was just relaxing in my room when I glanced upon my cabinet of stuffed toys and I found this cute pig staring at me like a boss. So cute!

Maki: Comfort Food

Day 76/366: California Maki

Extended thesis meeting over dinner at a Japanese/Korean place in the University Mall. I ordered one roll of California Maki. One roll = eight pieces and yes, I ate them all. They're not as good as those that I've tried before, but just enough to satisfy my hungry tummy.

Freedom Clay

Day 75/366: Clay

When I was a kid, I used to play with Play-Doh and make different shapes out of it. Stars, hearts, flowers, name it. A few hours of just playing with clay makes me a happy and satisfied kid, you know. Haha! Random childhood memories popped inside my head because of this activity that we had in our History class. Good old times!

Too Cute to be True!

Day 73/366: Stuffed Toy

Those big round eyes and that fat nose! Too cute to be true! I've been fond of cute dogs ever since the Doggie Day Fair. There were lots of cute dogs there, I tell you! I want to own a dog soon! But for now, I'll settle with this one.

Welcome Back!

Day 72/366: Welcome back, (Ate) Trixie!

Yes, she's back! We got a message from her last Friday saying that she's flying home soon (soon equating to Sunday). The next thing we know, she's already here, so we arranged a get-together dinner which was pushed through earlier at Wee Nam Kee. Catching up over good food! It was a fun night indeed.

Fragrance

Day 71/366: Incense

Incense is usually used in religious rituals and ceremonies. It can also be used for aromatherapy and  nowadays, one simple and common application is for bathroom fragrance. Light some incense sticks, just leave them to burn by themselves, and they will leave a subtle fragrance (which varies by the way  depending on the scent - ocean, rose, jasmine, lavender, lemon grass, etc.).

Sparks of Colors

Day 70/366: Pyromusical

Enzo and I were just in time for the Pyromusical competition that night! We parked at the roof top and believe me, the view from the top was just so breathtaking.

Republiq Night

Day 69/366: Happy birthday Kate!

It's Kate's 21st birthday and as she puts it 'Living Young, Wild, and Free'.
Happy happy birthday Katie! ☺

The Magnum Craze

Day 68/366: Magnum Almond Flavor

There's this Magnum craze that's been going on for days! After my first class this morning, I stopped by the nearest 7-eleven and bought myself one. It comes with three flavors: Classic, Chocolate Truffle, and Almond. I've already tried 2 out of the 3 flavors available. If you're a chocolate lover, you'll definitely appreciate it. I just don't think everyone would be willing to spend P50 (supermarkets) or P55/60 (7-eleven stores) for a popsicle ice cream though.

Mister Pringles

Day 67/366: Pringles

So today I got stuck in front of my laptop literally the whole day 'cause I was trying to finish a finite element analysis project for my class which was due the next day. Talk about cramming! Good thing I have Mr. Pringles with me to keep me sane every once in a while.

For Keeps

Day 66/366: Keychain

I've had this with me for almost a year now. It's a keychain that Enzo got for me when he went to Bora. Since then, I never complained about losing my keys inside my bag.

Peanut Butter Cup Tower

Day 65/366: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Reese's chocolates - One of my most favorite chocolates in the whole wide world! I was pretty much bored that night, so I played with these four peanut butter cups before they vanish in thin air.

A Boy's Best Friend

Day 64/366: Doggie Day Fair

Enzo and I dropped by at Tikay's org event: Doggie Day Fair - A fun-filled day for all the dogs out there! I was greeted with the sight of this adorable kid playing with his cute dog. What an adorable pair!

Culinarium

Day 63/366: Bataan - Pampanga Tour

Today, we had our scheduled day trip to Bataan and Pampanga for our History class. When we arrived in Pampanga, it was around noon time and was just in time for lunch. We had a stopover at a museum in Angeles, Pampanga and we were lead to the second floor where a Culinarium area was allotted for a lunch buffet for everyone. The area gives a homey feel of a traditional Filipino house. Hanging on the walls were different frames showcasing information about Pampanga's food specialities.

Everyday I'm Shuffling

Day 62/366: iPod Nano

I got this little thing for free last November when I went for a trip to Singapore with my parents. I have little interest of owning one before, but I realized later on that it's really handy since it's not bulky plus, you can just clip it on your shirt and shuffle away!

C is for Cookie

Day 61/366: Oatmeal Cookies

My mom brought oatmeal cookies when she visited us here in Manila. They look yummy, but I couldn't eat them though. Risky for my braces! The things that you give up for braces.
